About

Glasgow University Women’s Club (London)

Aims of GUWC

The aim of the club is to provide a varied social programme of interest to women graduates and alumnae of Glasgow University, resident in London and the South East.

The Club, which is non-denominational, spans a wide age range with many professions represented and meets six times a year.

Our last meeting was our Annual Dinner at the Caledonian Club with guest speaker Katherine Grainger, Britain’s most successful female athlete with Olympic medals from 5 consecutive Olympic Games It went very well and wasn’t Dame Katherine a wonderful speaker! She spoke for an hour and I am sure she could have continued for another hour if we had had the time.

Our next event is the outing to the Charterhouse in September and the details are in this newsletter. It is a wonderful place to visit and so unexpected to find it in the middle of London.
