Glasgow University Women’s Club (London)

Aims of GUWC

The aim of the club is to provide a varied social programme of interest to women graduates and alumni of Glasgow University, resident in London and the South East.

The Club, which is non-denominational, spans a wide age range with many professions represented and meets six times a year.

Our last meeting was a Houses of Parliament Tour on Saturday 16th September 2017.
A tour of the House of Commons was conducted by our own Blue Badge Guide, Hilary Booth, visiting both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

We have just had a lovely letter from a student who was awarded a Talent Scholarship we funded – see Support for the University

Marjorie Bremner is undertaking 2 major challenges in October for MS charities:

24 peaks in 24 hours 6-8 October in the Lake District raising money for Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis (OMS).
Her Just Giving page is: 24 Peaks

The second challenge is for the Multiple Sclerosis Society to help fund vital research – Great Wall of China trek 14 – 23 October.
Her Just Giving page is: Great Wall of China

She would be very grateful for any sponsorship large or small.
Many of us have friends affected by MS and they do need all the support they can get.

Our membership secretary is Marjorie Bremner (membership@gu-london.org.uk) and she would love to hear from any female Glasgow graduates who would be interested in attending any of our meetings.
Can we remind you that, if you would like to join the club’s LinkedIn group, you can contact Marjorie Bremner on membership@gu-london.org.uk for further information?
