President’s Tea Party
On Saturday 29th January our President, Dorothy MacDonald hosted a tea party at Kings Place, Kings Cross a venue unknown to most of us. Before we sat down for tea there was a guided tour of this most interesting modern building which is set on the Regents Canal. Tea, which was taken in the Rotunda restaurant, was very much enjoyed by everyone.

Spring Lunch – Saturday 2nd April – St Columba’s
Our next function is the Spring lunch which will be held at St Columba’s, Pont Street at 12.30pm for 1pm. The cost will be £12 for lunch with wine. Our speaker, Linda Hadcocks, is a Chief Petty Officer in the Royal Naval Reserve and she will give an illustrated talk on setting up a field hospital in Iraq in 2003. (Please see attached flyer). Guests will be most welcome. If you would like to attend please complete the slip at the bottom of the page and on this occasion it should be returned to Marjory Montgomerie – details below. As you can guess lunch will be “bangers and mash” but if you would prefer an alternative this should be noted on the reply slip. Replies should reach Marjory by Saturday 26th March.

GUWC (London) – web site – www.gu-london.org.uk
The Club website is now up and running and I would recommend that you have a look at it. It really is an excellent piece of work and thanks and congratulations must go to Carolyn Whitesmith who took on the task of putting it together with the help of Alistair Milne of the Oxford Society of Glasgow University Graduates. Caroline, as webmaster, will also be responsible for keeping the site up to date. The Club would like to display, on the website, photographs from various functions throughout the year and these may include members of the Club. If you have any objections to appearing in a photograph on the website please let me know, in writing, as soon as possible.
