Annual Dinner – CBI Centre Point

The annual dinner which was held on 21st June at the CBI headquarters in Centre Point, London was very successful with over 50 members and friends attending. The speaker, Iain McMillan, Director of the CBI in Scotland was excellent and he brought all us exiles up to date with what is happening north of the border although he would not commit himself to forecasting the result of the vote on independence! It was a most interesting evening in a spectacular venue.

Dates for your Diary

Saturday 27th October – AGM and lunch, St Columba’s, Pont Street

Afternoon Tea – Saturday 15th September at 2.30pm for tea at 3pm

This year our afternoon tea is a little later in the year because we had our Burns Lunch in January. We are having an afternoon tea with a difference as it is being held in St Columba’s, Pont Street and Leonard is catering. We will also have some speakers at this tea – those members of the Club who have been volunteering at the Olympic games complete with their uniforms and the torch bearer, Marjorie Bremner with her Olympic torch. It promises to be a fascinating afternoon and if you would like to hear what it was really like to be a volunteer do come along. The cost will be £12 per head to include a glass of sparkling wine. If you intend coming to this event please complete the form at the bottom of the page and return to me by Monday 10th September.
