The Club held a very enjoyable Spring Lunch on Saturday 1st March at St Columba’s, Pont St, with 31 members and guests in attendance. Our delicious lunch, provided by Leonard, was followed by a very interesting talk by Steve Hawe of the charity, Beanstalk, which provides voluntary reading help in schools across the country.

Our next event is a visit to the Jewish Museum of London on Sunday 6th April 2014. The museum is located at Raymond Burton House, 129-131 Albert St, London NW1 7NB. Information can be found at The Museum is not far from either Camden Town Station or Mornington Crescent. On Sundays, Camden Town Station is closed to passengers boarding trains after 1pm, so Mornington Crescent would be the stop for return journeys. Suitable bus routes for the Museum are numbers 24, 27, 29, 31, 88, 134, 168, 214, 253, 274 and C2. The duration of the visit will be about two hours which will include an introductory talk by a Museum guide. There is lift access to all areas of the Museum.


  • The standard cost of the visit is £7 per person which includes the talk by the guide.
  • The concession cost is £6 per person which includes the talk by the guide.
  • If you have an Art Fund Pass, the cost is £1 per person which is the cost of the talk by the guide. If you are in this last category, can you please give Marjory Montgomerie your money on the day?
  • As the Events Secretary will be on holiday when this event takes place, the President will be dealing with all replies and payments. Payments and replies should reach the President by 31st March. Please let her know if you are attending and have paid by bank transfer.     There is a café at the Museum for drinks and snacks but there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars close at hand if you feel like having a more substantial lunch.

    The Museum has offered a discount to our members if they wish to become a Friend of the Jewish Museum of London.
